Hello campers,

We are so excited that you've registered for summer camp at the K. A. Artist Shop. We're looking forward to lots of creative play, technique lessons that broaden your skills, and a new final project this year... making mini music videos together!

There are two forms that we need you to complete to ensure a wonderful week. You'll find those below. One is a link to our "Camper Welcome Form," and the other is a link to our "Summer Camp Liability Waiver." Please fill both of these out and return them to us asap, definitely before camp begins. We must have emergency contact info and a signed waiver for students to participate in summer camp.

 

 WHAT TO BRING: 

You may be wondering if you need to bring anything with you to camp. While we will provide most of the items you'll need, there are a few things you'll want to bring with you.

▸ ART SUPPLIES

Everything you'll need will be provided for you; you do not need to bring any art supplies. However, if you have any supplies that you really enjoy using, you are welcome to bring those. Favorite pen, marker, or sketchbook? Feel free to bring it! If you love photography, you are welcome to bring a camera. If you work digitally, you may bring a tablet and stylus. Some of our activities can be completed digitally for those who desire. (If you're bringing a camera or tablet, you'll want to bring an extra battery or charger, too.)

▸ LUNCH (AM ONLY)

Everyone should bring a water bottle to camp. If you're coming to an AM session, you'll need to bring a packed lunch. We'll take a break at 11am for lunch. We also offer the option for lunches to be ordered from a neighboring restaurant. Our options are limited for places that serve food before 11am, but we'll outline your choices in the "Additional Info" section below.

▸ SNACK (PM ONLY)

Everyone should bring a water bottle to camp. If you're coming to a PM session, you'll want to bring a packed snack. We'll take a snack break at 4pm.

▸ TOWEL / SUNSCREEN

When the weather is nice and the activity allows, we'll go outside and work on the north campus lawn. We recommend that you bring a towel or blanket to sit on; you can keep it at the shop throughout the week. You may also wish to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, or a wide-brimmed hat.

 

 FORMS TO COMPLETE: 

Please fill-out both the "Camper Welcome Form" and the "Summer Camp Liability Waiver" as soon as possible. We definitely need them before your camp begins!

★ CAMPER WELCOME FORM

Please click the link above and fill this out separately for each camper. It helps us get to know your camper and includes fields for emergency contact info. This is required for your camper to attend. If you have any questions, you can leave them in the last input field.

★ SUMMER CAMP LIABILITY WAIVER

Click above and you'll find our summer camp liability waiver. Please fill it out and submit a separate copy for each camper. There's a field in the Camper Welcome Form where you may upload a completed digital copy.

You may submit a digital signed copy of this form by emailing hello@kaartist.com, uploading it to your Camper Welcome Form, or you can bring a physical signed copy with you on the first day of camp. We must have a signed waiver for students to participate in summer camp.

 

 DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP: 

We are located in downtown Athens, GA at 127 N Jackson St. All camps will take place in the shop, in one of our two classrooms. We'll also venture outside, safely and together, as weather allows.

▸ PROTOCOLS FOR DROP-OFF

We allow drop-off between 8:15-8:30 AM (for AM and All-Day sessions) and between 1:15-1:30 PM (for PM sessions). Please do not come earlier, as we will not have staff outside to greet your camper.

You are welcome to pull into one of the parking spots on Jackson Street (if available) for both drop-off and pick-up. If there aren't any spots available, just make sure you're in the south-bound lane (the one closest to the shop), and put your hazard lights on. On occasion, you may need to circle around the block to keep from blocking traffic if we're not waiting outside yet.

▸ PROTOCOLS FOR PICK-UP

We allow pick-up between 12:30-12:45 PM (for AM sessions) and between 5:30-5:45 PM (for PM and All-Day sessions). Please do not come earlier or later than this pickup window.

▸ PLEASE NOTE

Please don't block traffic by stopping in the north-bound lane of Jackson Street -- especially because we don't want campers crossing in the middle of the street. Our front door is on the south-bound side of the road: on the right as you're heading toward Broad St.

 ADDITIONAL INFO: 

We understand that packing a lunch is not always the easiest option. If you'd like to order lunch for your camper from a downtown restaurant, please choose one of the restaurants below. We wish there were more options, but for now, these are the places nearby that we know serve lunch before 11am.

▸ PROTOCOLS FOR ORDERING LUNCH

1. Place your camper's order so that it is ready at 10:45 am.

2. Text us at the Artist Shop to let us know that you've placed an order for pickup and provide us with the relevant details: 706-850-1224

3. Include in your text:

• Camper's name
• The name on the order
• Which restaurant you ordered from
• The estimated time the food will be ready

You are responsible for paying when you place an order. Don't forget to text us to let us know when and where to pick up!
