Book Making with Kenneth Kase
New Session Coming Soon!
Join us for a fun and easy class where you'll make a hand-sewn book or journal. All materials are included in the cost of the class.
Using a modified Coptic binding technique, you will make your own journal or book with a paper slip cover and a ribbon closure. The pages will be a nice Strathmore paper, grear for pencil or ink. Sewn by hand, without the use of glue, this is a perfect style for journals, poetry, sketchbooks, and gifts. No experience necessary - we'll wall through all the steps together as you create your handmade keepsake book.
Kenneth's background is in sculpture and jewelry, but he works with a multitude of materials and techniques, from Chinese paper-making, to casting silver and bronze, to glass. With an Undergrad from RISD in Sculpture and a Masters form UGA in Jewelry and Metalwork, Kenneth has taught everything from jewelry, book-arts, and sculpture. He's got a wealth of knowledge and an infectious enthusiasm for art-making supplies and methods.
