Private lessons are a great way to dive into the world of lettering! With the individual attention of experienced calligrapher Kristen Ashley, you will learn a useful new skill that will bring you joy and can be used in many areas of your life.
Private lessons are all about you and what your personal goals are -- We can focus on pointed dip pen calligraphy, brush lettering, envelope addressing, or even improving your everyday handwriting. If you have a specific project in mind, just let us know!
Not sure where to begin? A lettering class typically covers things like:
For more experienced calligraphers, we can try out metallic watercolors, use a variety of nibs, and discuss more in-depth how to create our own signature alphabets. Just let us know what you'd like to learn.
Our private classes last two hours and can be scheduled any day of the week between the hours of 11 am and 8 pm. We ask for two weeks of advanced notice; dates and times are subject to availability.
You can extend your lesson or return for additional sessions for just $40/hour, and bring a friend to any lesson for just $25.
Feel free to email us email@example.com with questions and for scheduling requests.

Q: What ages are your classes for?
A: Our classes are generally for adults, but we welcome younger students as long as they are comfortable and skilled enough to take classes with adults. Please reach out if you have any questions. For pre-teens and teens, we also offer weekly Art Clubs on Friday nights.
Q: What are you doing to prevent Zoombombers?
A: We are using the "waiting room" feature on Zoom. When you join the meeting, you'll be taken to this waiting room so that we can verify who you are and that you've registered for class. Once verified, you'll be admitted to the virtual classroom. (This is why we ask that you arrive ten minutes early.) No one will be admitted into our classroom except legitimate students. Here's an informative video about Zoom Waiting Rooms.
