general info

The typical age range for our campers is 10-15, but we are flexible. If your child is just outside of the age range and is comfortable with it, they are welcome. However, the youngest we can accept is 8 years old, and the oldest is 16.

All skill levels are welcome. We tailor each project to benefit both beginners and more advanced students. We want students to be able to come to our camps year after year, progressing in their artistic journeys, developing their skill sets, and, potentially, starting their creative career paths.

* Please note that there will be no camp on Memorial Day, nor any camps the week of July 4th.

Am Sessions have a little bit of everything: daily inspo and prompts, technique demos, and painting en plein air. You'll sketch, watercolor, sculpt, illustrate, letter, print, paint, draw, and design. You'll leave knowing a little more about art history, materials & methods, and what it means to make art. Through daily challenges, critiques, and lessons, you'll stretch yourself to make skilled and meaningful work.

PM Sessions are topical - focusing on a specific theme or medium each week. You can look forward to more in-depth projects during our afternoon camps, and you'll leave with a richer skill set, a broader understanding, and a new appreciation for your craft.

Our camps are led by the Artist Shop owner, Kristen Ashley, our shop manager, Christina Littleton, head Art Club teacher, Courtney McCracken, as well as some other mighty fine professional artists and art educators living in Athens, Ga.

materials / what to bring

Nope! The cost of supplies is built in to the cost of the camp. Your student will be given everything they need once they arrive. However, students are welcome to bring their own supplies if they'd like.

We eat lunch during our AM Sessions, and we have a snack during our PM Sessions. If you're signed up for a morning camp, please pack and bring a lunch. If you're signed up for an afternoon camp, please bring a snack. A refrigerator is available for small items. 

We will have water available, and we ask that all students bring a travel bottle of some sort, as we'll be going outside regularly and must stay hydrated!

If you are partial to bottled water or other beverages, please bring those along too.

Refunds / Exchanges

You can receive a full refund if you cancel at least one month before camp begins. You can also switch to another camp at no charge.

If you are cancelling or switching less than a month out, we will refund your original payment, minus a $40 cancellation fee, as long as the cancelled camp is at least two weeks away.

If you need to cancel less than two weeks before camp begins, unfortunately, we cannot offer a refund. We understand that things happen, so please reach out to us if you need to cancel your camp enrollment.

special situations

Sure! As long as your student is ok with squeezing in, we allow drop-ins for one or two days of camp. The cost is $60 for one session (AM or PM), and it's $100 to stay all day (both AM and PM).

Be sure to let us know if your child has any special needs or allergens to avoid BEFORE camp begins.

We'll send everyone a consent form to sign before camp begins, and you'll have the opportunity to let us know what we need to know. Please be specific so that we can ensure all students remain healthy and happy.
