Drawing is the foundation of all great artwork, unveiling the base structure of an artist's thought. In this nuanced medium, precision is key. During this course, students will learn foundational skills of drawing such as shading, measurement, chiaroscuro, and composition. Students will work primarily from life and leave the course with several finished drawings.
All materials needed will be provided. You won't need to bring anything but yourself, and beginners are always welcome.
About the Instructor: Kendal Jacques is an artist living and working in Athens, Georgia with her husband Cliffton and their deaf dog, Willow. She earned a BFA in Painting from the Lamar Dodd School of Art. At the moment she is working primarily in oil, painting naturalist still lives. Her work references the familiarity of memory and generational time through the use of objects associated with personal history and rural culture.
