Private Photography Class (online)

Private lessons are a great way to dive head first into the world of photography! With the individual attention of an experienced photographer, you will learn useful new skills that can carry over into many areas of your life.

Private lessons are all about you and what your personal goals are, so we will cater the lesson to your preferred focus. We can work on capturing photos using the light box in our photo room, or go for a walk if you'd rather shoot outdoors. If you have a specific project in mind that you would like assistance and guidance on we can assist with that too. Beginners are welcome!

Not sure where to begin? A photography class can cover a topic like:

  • Getting to know your camera
  • How to make the leap from Auto to Manual mode
  • Foundational skills for product photography such as staging, lighting, and composition
  • An intro to topics like street photography, landscapes, and artistic expression
  • Photo editing in Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

Our private classes last two hours and can be scheduled any day of the week between the hours of 11 am and 8 pm. We ask for two weeks of advanced notice; dates and times are subject to availability.

You can extend your lesson or return for additional sessions for just $40/hour, and bring a friend to any lesson for just $25.

Feel free to email us hello@kaartist.com with questions and for scheduling requests.

Class FAQ

Q:  What ages are your classes for?

A:  Our classes are generally for adults, but we welcome younger students as long as they are comfortable and skilled enough to take classes with adults. Please reach out if you have any questions. For pre-teens and teens, we also offer weekly Art Clubs on Friday nights.

Q:  What are you doing to prevent Zoombombers?

A:  We are using the "waiting room" feature on Zoom. When you join the meeting, you'll be taken to this waiting room so that we can verify who you are and that you've registered for class. Once verified, you'll be admitted to the virtual classroom. (This is why we ask that you arrive ten minutes early.) No one will be admitted into our classroom except legitimate students. Here's an informative video about Zoom Waiting Rooms.
