Summer Camp FAQ
What does my student need to bring?
Each student will need to bring a bottle for water and a lunch for AM camps and a snack for PM camps.
We also recommend that they bring a towel for when we sit outside.
If your student has some favorite art supplies or a tablet and stylus for digital art, they may bring those as well. But other than that, everything is included!
Is each camp week the same?
All of our camps are similar in structure, but unique in activities. Each camp will include lessons in drawing, painting, illustration, calligraphy, printmaking, design, color theory, collage, creative journaling, and visual story-telling. However, every camp will have unique lessons and activities. Your student can sign up for multiple camps and expect to learn many new things each week!
Can my student do digital art?
Yes! We welcome pretty much all visual art-making materials, tablets included. We will have teachers and staff menbers on hand who also make digital art, but your student should come to camp with knowledge of how to use their digital device and drawing program.
My child is 9 but very mature; may they enroll?
We're sorry! Our camps are designed for middle-schoolers and high-schoolers, yet we do allow for 10 and 11 year olds to join in. We hope they'll join us next year when they are 10 years old.
Can I get a discount for multiple camps?
Yes! We have a built-in discount when you sign up for both an AM Camp and a PM Camp in the same week called the "Full Day" camp.
For those of you signing up for multiple weeks, we recommend you take advantage of our rewards program. You're welcome to register in multiple transactions,Β using yourΒ rewards points to redeem a coupon for your additional camp(s).
What are your Covid-19 protocols for camp?
As usual, ourΒ classrooms are disinfected and cleaned before each day. Masks are now optional in our camps. We've got hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes in each classroom, and students are encouraged to help themselves whenever they need them.
PLEASE NOTE: We ask that students refrain from attending camp if they are at all contagious. We are happy to offer make-up sessions as space allows or credit toward a birthday party to any student who needs to stay home due to illness. You'll need to let us know before camp begins that your student is unable to attend; we are unable to offer make-up sessions for no-shows.
What is your camp cancellation policy?
We understand that things happen and you may not be able to attend the camp you purchased. If your plans change, please let us know at least 10 days before your scheduled camp begins. If you let us know with at least 10 days notice, we can issue a full monetary refund to your original form of payment or switch you to another camp at no charge. We cannot offer refunds after the 10-day-mark, but we are happy to offer make-up sessions as space allows or credit toward a birthday party to any student who needs to miss their scheduled camp.
Regretfully, we cannot issue refunds or make-ups for no-shows. Please reach out to us prior to camp if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Is there a minimum number of students who need to be enrolled for a camp to happen?
Yes, we need fourΒ students to enroll for camp to happen. On the chance that a camp doesn't meet this minimum enrollment, we will inform all enrolled contacts one full week before the first day of camp. We'll of course refund you in full, and we'll send you an apology shop gift card to boot!
However, we don't expect this to happen. We know many of you are excited for summer camps again, so please sign-up early!
