Art on View: "The Space Between"

Longtime shop manager Christina Littleton has curated a collection of works entitled “The Space Between,” exploring the concepts of minding our intuition, honoring the artistic process, and trusting what cannot be fully know in the moment.

I am pleased to be a part of the show with seven paintings on display in Lexi Torres’s Land Family Home in nearby Monroe. My largest piece is called “Gone to Prepare a Place for You,” and it features an intuitively-painted bird perched above a “nest” of negative space. I painted and named this piece in January, when unbeknownst to me, I was pregnant. In alignment with the show’s theme, my artistic process was tapped into a truth not yet revealed to me.

There are two events to enjoy this Saturday: a brunch soiree and a dinner soiree, both catered by Hendershots and promising delightful music, artist talks, and inspiring views of nature (the home and grounds are gorgeous) and the art. Tickets are required in advance, and I highly recommend carving out the time for a social event that will rejuvenate your joie de vivre.
