My name is Jeremy Long and I was the primary cartoonist for The Flickskinny. The Flickskinny started as a movie review zine sold for a quarter at the video store I worked at in Athens Georgia. Picked up by Flagpole Magazine in 2000, the comic ran weekly until 2020. Alas The Flickskinnys' comic/film review format left much to be desired artistically as the review section tended to leave little room for the art itself. After retiring the comic, I decided to go into my extensive archives and paint some of my favorite panels, focusing on the art portion this time around rather than the film review. I don’t claim to be much of an artist but the paintings are colorful & fun and I enjoyed the challenge.
