Celebrating Our 10th Birthday
Hi folks!
Kristen here 👋
I started the Artist Shop in 2014 and didn’t exactly know what it would become. Originally, I was looking for a personal art studio to use to support my growing Etsy business, but when I found this inspiring space downtown in the sunlight, the business plan evolved into a much more communal effort.
We started hosting workshops, and every year since we’ve been voted one of your favorite places to take a creative class. I started learning how to photograph all kinds of artwork and provide spot-on reproductions for artists. Now archival printing is one of my favorite roles I perform at the shop. There is so much I’ve learned over the years.
Our art supply collection has grown from a single shelf of oil paints and a few cups of pens into the bountiful assortment we provide today. And our class kit business has exploded! We absolutely love bagging your supplies for classes at UGA and beyond.
As of today, we’ve helped over 22,000 artists with services and supplies!
Athens has been an amazing home for my team and myself. I don’t think I could have started this business anywhere else. Our clients and customers are the best in the world.
So it is with enormous gratitude that we celebrate ten years of business on November 1st.
Please join us for an Open House Weekend, November 1st through November 3rd.
We'll be open with normal business hours (12-6pm), but we'll have extra activities and refreshments in our classrooms. Plus, we'll adorn our walls with a retrospective of local artwork that we've printed over the years.

There’s so much more we want to do. There are so many more local artists we want to support and connect with the community. There are so many more projects we want to work on, helping artists share and sell their work. There are so many more classes and camps (hello, adult art camp!) we want to host. And there’s so much more beauty to help bring to the world.
Join us at the shop, Nov. 1- 3, to help us celebrate our first decade and raise a toast to the next!
