The Conté à Paris Sketching Crayons include various highly reputed Sanguine colours, Grey and Bistre, 3 grades of white and black complete the range. These crayons are very soft to apply and manufactured using natural pigments (iron oxides, carbon black, titanium dioxide), clay (kaolin) and a binder (cellulose ether).
The rich tones mix together nicely, and are well suited for use on textured paper or heavily grained surfaces. Sharpen them to a chisel tip, or drag them flat on their sides for various shading techniques.
