Oil Painting Ground is similar to gesso, but provides a more specialized and convenient primer!
Instead of traditional gesso, Gamblin Oil Painting Ground is less absorbent, allowing the oil paint to maintain their true color saturation. With Oil Painting Ground, oil paint will not break down the surface or fade. This ground creates a sturdy layer between canvas and oil paint, making layering or wiping away paint easier. In Titanium White, the ground provides a bright, consistent, true white surface.
Gamsol is recommended for cleanup of your tools after using Oil Ground. Tins are 16 ounces.
